Ministry Opportunities September 9, 2009

Opportunities exist for churches to support three specific ministries of Orphan’s Tree. When a church “adopts” a program it commits to: a) provide financial support (either full amount or a certain portion of it); b) provide expertise and volunteers to take trips, lead trainings and provide encouragement; c) maintain long-term relationships; and d) provide prayer support

  • Young Family ministry through a program coordinator prepares and leads retreats with a curriculum for adults and young kids.  Churches will participate with the Russian coordinator during the seminar. Individual church families are encouraged to correspond with individual Russian families as a means of on-going encouragement.
  • Job Preparation ministry helps graduates learn how to obtain and keep jobs by learning how to write a resume, learn interview skills and learn good work habits. Churches will support the Junior Achievement trainers of OT in every region and participate in trainings by sending volunteers to support the training.
  • Leadership Training ministry includes a leadership coordinator in every region that churches helps train and supports. The leadership coordinator helps organize volunteer projects or prepare for projects with the church when they visit. Besides support of leadership coordinator, the church funds expenses for supplies needed for volunteer projects, snacks for when the Leadership group meets, and some travel expenses,
